IF IT’S THURSDAY WE MUST BE AT LAKE POWELL

Four days on the road and three of them with out a signal for the Verizon air card.

Sunday we caught the ferry to Anacortes Washington, it was a case of hurry up and wait, have to be at the dock 60 to 90 minutes ahead of sailing. Preliminary immigration takes 2 minutes and then you sit and wait for an hour and a half. But it was a  beautiful day and that helped.

At the dock.

It was smooth sailing through immigration at Anacortes, we just don't bring any food  we aren’t sure about. They didn’t ask us about anything other than citrus fruit.

We picked up our kayaks and after a short visit with Pam, we were on our way, drove to Marysville to buy dog food, and ended up staying overnight at the Tulalip Casino.

Monday we took highway 90 over the Snoqualmie Pass in the Cascade Mountains. It is amazing to me how the terrain changes.

Then through the north east corner of Oregon, stayed in a truck stop outside La Grande, where a truck ran it’s refrigerator  all night.  Through Idaho..Into Nevada where we stayed in a BLM campground just outside of the town of Jackpot.

We entered Utah at the Bonneville Salt Flats where the Land Speed Record was set.

Wednesday night was spent at Uinta National Forest, on the Mount Nebo  Loop. We would like to stay there for a while, if we come through Utah again.

We  arrived at Lake Powell around four pm today. We have travelled 2,450 kilometers, or 1470 miles, around 300 miles a day.

The dogss were so good, we are so lucky they travel well.

Waiting on a treat.
